Charles Edward Hale, known affectionately as Chuck, passed away on March 4, 2026, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center at the age of 74. Born on October 1, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Joe and Dorothy (Bennett) Hale, he graduated from Northside High School in Northside, Texas. Chuck built a career as a drilling rig operator, working with Martin and Martin in Texas, FALCO in Louisville, Kentucky, and Koker Drilling Company in Ohio. He found joy in time spent at the shooting range, playing foosball, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, and riding the open road on his beloved Harley motorcycle.
Chuck married Sally Ann Hoffman, and together they raised three children before later divorcing. Sally survives him. He is also survived by his children, Lualice (Richard) Gibbs of Hutchinson, Edwin (Halley) Hale and Benjamin Hale, both of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren, Bridgette, Tristan, Camryn, Edwin “EJ”, August, and Truman; his great-grandchildren, Persephone, Atlas, and Hyperion; his brother, Jody Hale of Texas; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Felicia Armstrong, and his sisters Karen Marks, Nancy Hale, and Mary Ann Hale.
