He died on February 25, 2026.He was preceded in death by his parents George Edward Fortson and Louella (Bailey) Fortson; maternal grandparents C.D. Bailey and Vida Bailey; paternal grandparents Coy and Beluah Fortson; brother Mark B. Fortson; and his wife Kay Fortson.He is survived by two daughters Paula Kay Adams Harness and Farrah Walters (Scott); two grandkids Heather Fortson and MaKayla Smith; great-grandkids Christopher Edwards, Maci Markcum, Beau Turner, Konnar Turner, Harley Turner, Brayder Sliffe, and Dealaya Smith; and sister Lee (Fortson) Reed (Mickey).Charlie liked the outdoors, motorcycling, traveling, camping, wood working, and building furniture for family. He was a hard worker and reliable.
