Charles Edward Emond

April 3, 1945 March 11, 2026

Middletown, NY

Charles Edward Emond, known affectionately as Charlie, was born on April 3, 1945, in New York City to the late Helen (Porupski) and Albert Emond. He passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the age of 80, with his daughter Michelle by his side. Charlie moved to Orange County in the 1960s and later relocated to Florida in 1986, where he built a successful career with IBM. Starting in entry-level operations, he advanced through dedication and sharp intellect to become a respected manager and professional program operator, all without the benefit of a college degree. He found great pleasure on the golf course, immersed in a good book, and in sharing his distinctive sense of humor with family and friends. In 2022, he returned to Braemar in Middletown.

Charlie proudly served in the United States Air Force from May 1965 through December 1968, demonstrating discipline, duty, and commitment. His years in uniform forged lasting friendships and remained a source of deep personal pride throughout his life. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Emond, on January 19, 2025.

He is survived by his daughter Michelle (Mike Loiacono) and his three adored granddaughters, Olivia, Isabella, and Ava Emond. He is also survived by his brother Richard (Diane) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, nephew Curt and great-nephews Talisian and Richard, niece Jill (Chris Chapman) and great-niece April, as well as Margaret Emond, the mother of his children, along with many cousins, friends, and professional colleagues.
