Charles Dyer

July 11, 1942 March 11, 2026

Raynham, MA

Charles “Charlie” Dyer of Raynham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at Morton Hospital on March 11, 2026. He was the only son of the late Elmer Wilson Dyer and Phyllis Elsie Simmons (Morris) of Taunton. Charlie shared 56 years of marriage with the love of his life, Judith Elaine Dyer, until her passing in 2020.

A 1961 graduate of Taunton High School, Charlie spent his entire career in the oil and gas industry. In 1980 he founded Dyer Oil Company, which became a trusted provider of heating oil and technical services throughout the region. Known and respected in Raynham, Taunton, and surrounding communities, he took genuine pride in his work, knowing many customers by name and forming lasting friendships through his business.

Beyond his professional life, Charlie devoted countless hours to youth baseball, coaching and encouraging hundreds of children over the years. He carried a lifelong passion for fixing and racing cars, rooted in his Taunton upbringing, and remained an avid fan of baseball and auto racing. Family and friends remember his commanding presence, quick humor, and the legendary “Charlie stories” that filled every room he entered.

Above all, Charlie cherished his family. He is survived by his sons, Shawn Dyer and his wife Kristen, and Jason Dyer and his wife Joan, both of Raynham; his proud grandchildren Caiden, Chloe, Mia, and Sydney Dyer; his step-grandchildren Curtis, Cory, and Craig Belanger; and many extended family members and dear friends who loved him.
