He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Johnson Cooper and Laura Jane Kinder Cooper; and his sister Beatrice Justice. He is survived by: the mother of his children Beverly Gilbert of Danville; his children, Steven Cooper (Crystal) of Yosemite, Kentucky and Lisa Amanda Parson of Harrodsburg; and his brothers, Lawrence Wayne Cooper of Flemingsburg, George Ray Cooper of Flemingsburg, Forrest Lane Cooper (Mildred) of Flemingsburg and Wiley Dennis Cooper of Flemingsburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; as well as extended family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Northcutt & Son Home For Funerals (400 Fraley Dr, Morehead, KY 40351). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
