Charles Dean Wiemann
November 2, 1957— March 8, 2026
Urbandale, IA
Charles Dean Wiemann, known to many as Chuck, Charlie, or “Chuckles,” of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 68 after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on November 2, 1957, in Fort Dodge, he graduated from Sheffield-Chapin High School. As the oldest of four children with a young mother, Chuck learned responsibility early, taking on early-morning paper routes and farm work that instilled in him a lifelong work ethic and heart for service.
A man of deep faith, Chuck placed his trust in Christ as a young husband and, together with his family, helped plant Prairie Ridge Church. He found quiet joy in serving behind the scenes—building, moving, and supporting others without seeking recognition. His frequent question, “When has God not been faithful?” and his generous spirit left a lasting impression on those around him. A respected tradesman who took pride in quality workmanship, he began under the guidance of his first boss, Rocky Rothchild, later founding his own remodeling company and, in 2013, Wiemann Home Inspection. He passed his values of integrity and craftsmanship on to his son, Chris, and their team.
Above all, Chuck cherished his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Julie, at age 20, sharing 47 years of marriage. His greatest happiness came from being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved giving advice, playing games with determination, sharing family vacations, enjoying breakfast with his grandchildren before school, and simply being present. His relaxed quirks—a favorite shirt worn for months at a time, a sweat towel over his shoulder, and his warm, infectious chuckle—will be fondly remembered, especially by his grandchildren who loved hearing him laugh during funny movies.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Julie; his children, Christopher (Amanda) and Nicole (Rolando); grandchildren, Dawson, Fletcher, and Josie; siblings, Terry and Lesley Wiemann; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Delores and Roger Birdsall; his father, Lester Wiemann; and his brother, Kelly. His family finds comfort knowing he is now with the Lord he loved so dearly.
