Charles David Frank

1957 — 2026

Middletown, NY

Charles “Ace” David Frank III, 68, of Middletown, New York, passed away on March 13, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

Born on May 2, 1957, in Goshen, New York, to Charles Frank, Jr. and Jean Elston Frank, Charlie lived a life fueled by his passions. He married three times—first to Dianne Yehling, with whom he had a son and a daughter, then to Sandra Post, and finally to Ann Daugherty, whom he often called his “third time’s a charm.” A true gearhead, he loved anything with an engine—planes, trains, automobiles, ships, motorbikes, ATVs, and snowmobiles. Over the years he owned many antique cars and vans, and he was an active member of the Orange County Antique Auto Club and the Model Club.

Charlie worked at the slaughterhouse in Chester, Walden Books, in blacktopping, and at Monroe Tube before leaving to start C&C Sealing with his father. After closing the business in 2008 due to the recession, he drove cement trucks for Tetz for fifteen years. He was a longtime member of AA and would have celebrated thirty years of sobriety in July.

He is survived by his wife Annie Frank; son Charles “Chuck” Frank IV and wife Donna; daughter Candice “Candy” Sledzianowski and husband Daniel; six grandchildren, Emily, Madison, Clayton, Hayden, Haileigh, and Sarah; great-grandchildren Ilias and Dakota, who is on the way; and nieces Donna, Robyn, and Carol Jean. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Corwin “Denny” Frank, and his stepsister Margaret “Maggie” Brennan.
