Charles D. Alves

Charles D. Alves, 77, of Belcamp, Maryland, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026.Born to the late Arnaldo Alves and Amelia (Piques) Alves, Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran and Army Ranger.In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, John Alves; and his sister, Anna Alves.He is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Patricia Marie Alves (née McDermott), his high school sweetheart; his daughter, Lynnette (Kenneth) Ridley; his cherished grandchildren, Tyler Ridley and Alison Ridley; his brother, Michael (Lynne) Alves; his nephew, William Alves; his niece, Katherine Alves; and many loving extended family members and friends.Charles was a true family man who worked hard throughout his life to provide for those he loved. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored. An avid golfer, Charles could often be found on the course after tending to his yard, which he took great pride in maintaining. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including relaxing poolside in the sun, floating in the pool, hosting cookouts, and taking family vacations to Disney. His love for life, family, and the outdoors will be deeply missed by all who knew him.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charles' name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
