September 26, 1949— March 9, 2026
Clarksville, TN
Charles “Chuck” Crockett Hurst, Jr. was born on September 26, 1949, in Clarksville, Tennessee, and passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Dolores, with whom he shared nearly 32 years of marriage and a love story that defined his life.
Chuck and Dolores often said they simply “loved love.” They renewed their vows several times and took great joy in traveling together. Chuck especially loved riding his motorcycle through the Great Smoky Mountains, one of his favorite ways to experience the beauty of the world.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, including time stationed in Thailand, where he created memories he fondly recalled throughout his life, often while enjoying a plate of curry from his favorite Thai restaurant. Following his military service, Chuck dedicated more than 30 years to General Electric before retiring. In retirement, he devoted himself fully to caring for Dolores during her battle with cancer, a final and profound act of love and devotion.
Later in life, Chuck and Dolores found one of their greatest joys in becoming grandparents. Together they poured their love into their family. He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Burnside, and stepchildren Terry (Maryette) Pedersen, Jason (Stacy) Jesperson, Leeann Jesperson, Lyndsey Jesperson Steen, and James H. (Cassie) Jesperson. Chuck will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, and the enduring love he shared with Dolores and his family.
