Charles “Poochie” Collins, 71, of Wheatcroft, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville. Born on December 20, 1954, in Morganfield to the late Robert Earl and Emma Jane Collins, he spent more than five decades as a truck driver for Wright Trucking, a career that reflected his steadfast work ethic and reliability.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, in 2016. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, C. W. Collins of Wheatcroft; his brother, Donnie “Bimbo” Collins of Evansville; his nephew, Cory Collins and wife Amanda of Earlington; and his great-nephew, Micah, and great-niece, Mia.

Poochie will be remembered as a devoted family man who lived a quiet, hardworking life rooted in the community he called home. His presence brought steady comfort to those who knew him best, and he leaves behind a family that will carry his memory with deep affection.
