Charles Edward Cain, 67, of Kenton, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Born on June 26, 1958, in Kenton, to Melvin Arthur and Margaret Rose (Richardson) Cain, Charlie grew up surrounded by family and remained deeply connected to his hometown throughout his life.

He is survived by his brothers Melvin “Rick” (Nancy) Cain of Findlay and Dennis E. (Sue) Cain of Arlington, and his sisters Lisa (Mark) R. Mitchell of Bellefontaine and Melanie (Rod) A. Woodworth of Ovid, Michigan. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother James A. Cain. He leaves behind three children, Carrie J. Cain (Adam Greene) of Forest, Charles E. Cain II (Kali Price) of Forest, and Christopher J. (Brook) Cain of Kenton; nine grandchildren who were his pride and joy—Sade Yinger, Mason, Arthur, Alice, Anna, Axel, Ryker, Aengus, and Bodhi Cain—and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His loyal miniature pinscher, Buckeye, remained faithfully by his side until the end.

A 1977 graduate of Riverdale High School, Charlie participated in track and field and played football for the Falcons. He married Kathleen A. Cupp in 1976; they later divorced, and Kathleen survives in Forest. Charlie worked for many years at UAP in Forest and later at Durez Corporation in Kenton, from which he retired. Known for his outgoing nature, he never met a stranger and enjoyed playing pool and Euchre. Independent and headstrong, Charlie faced life on his own terms, leaving his family with memories of his vibrant spirit and steadfast character.
