Charles "Charlie" Anderson

1954 — 2026

St. Joseph, MO

Charles “Charlie” Anderson, 71, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born on October 6, 1954, Charlie graduated from Benton High School in 1972 and began a long career with BNSF Railroad, where he dedicated 40 years of service before retiring.

A devoted sports fan, he faithfully followed the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, Missouri Tigers, and NASCAR. He found peace and pleasure outdoors fishing, yet his greatest joy was time spent with his family. He cherished shuttling his grandchildren to their activities, playing cards, and gathering with friends and loved ones.

Charlie is survived by his sons, Jason Anderson (Nicole) and Shaun Anderson (Crissy). He was a proud grandfather to Kameron Diamond (Sam), Lane Anderson, Christian Anderson, Zethan Alexander, and Allison Alexander, and a loving great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Virginia Anderson (George), Margaret Fisher, Kathy Brock (Mark), and Shirley Wheeler, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Anderson and Mary Ruth Anderson, and his brother-in-law, Ron Fisher.

Charlie will be remembered for his deep love of family, his loyalty to friends, and the simple pleasures he embraced—watching games, fishing, following NASCAR, and sharing quiet moments with those he held dearest.
