Charles Allen McCall

Charles Allen McCall of Balsam Grove passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Kat) McCall; daughter Michelle Hogan and her husband Dave; son Charley McCall Jr. and his wife Melissa McCall; daughter Teri S. Wilkerson; and stepson Shannon Franks and his wife Frances Franks. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jeri Wilkerson. He also leaves behind nephew Julius McCall and his wife Kimberly McCall, along with 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Charlie never met a stranger and was a friend to countless people. He worked in construction for many years before spending a decade at Interrail Transport, after which he retired and returned to Balsam Grove, the place where he was born and raised. A true jack of all trades, he was always ready to help others, offering advice or simply fixing what was broken or hauling whatever needed moving. Even in his final days, when he was determined to keep working, his many special friends stepped in to ensure the jobs got done. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, including his two cherished dogs, Nick and Maggie.
