Charlene Los ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Stroo Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 2, 2026.Charlene Doris Los (Kuik), age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 26, 2026. She was born in Fox Lake, Wisconsin to Martin and Christena Kuik. Char was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Calvin Los; a great-grandson, Conner VanAntwerp; sister, Dorothy Fernhout; brothers, Gord Kuik, and Jerome Kuik; as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her children, Colleen and Rick Campbell, Sue and Stu Warsen, Randy and Sue Los. She took great pleasure in her 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and was happy there were more to come. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Helene DeKam, and Phyllis Kuik; brothers-in-law, Bill Fernhout, and Gene Los; sister-in-law, Joyce Kragt; as well as many nieces and nephews.Char graduated from Calvin college and taught for 31 years, the last 28 were at Byron Center Christian where she formed many friendships and influenced many young lives.She and Cal enjoyed spending time in Florida and at a vacation home near Big Rapids. They traveled to the Netherlands to see where their fathers originated and to the Philippines to visit her sister and family.In addition to her teaching career, Char supported Cal in his many ventures including a small farm, owning a drive-in restaurant in Wisconsin and The Corral Restaurant in Cutlerville.Char was a faithful prayer warrior, praying for her family members by name every night. She wanted to be the "aroma" of Jesus to those around her.We look forward to the day we will be reunited with her and dad in the presence of our Savior they introduced to us.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508 on Friday, March 13. The funeral service will be at 2 PM at Second Christian Reformed Church of Byron Center, 7588 Byron Center Ave SW, Byron Center, 49315, on Saturday, March 14, with a visitation an hour before. Her brother-in-law, Pastor Bill Fernhout will be officiating. The service will be livestreamed.Christian education was very important to Cal and Char. Contributions in memory of Char may be given to The Cal and Char Los Christian Heritage Scholarship at Byron Center Christian School.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
