Burtis Street, Celoron, died Sunday March 15, 2026, in Absolut of Salamanca.Born September 2, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ruth Freed Coan.She was a 1957 graduate of Jamestown High School.Char was a real people person and used that gift everywhere she worked. Whether managing the Town Club, tending bar at the Vikings, Embers Restaurant, and Satellite Bowling Alley or working in environmental services at manor Oak Nursing Home, she loved being engaged with people.She was an avid reader and was a former member of Thule Lodge and the Vikings Lodge. She was rabid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen. Also, she enjoyed watching professional golf and the Game Show Network and eating breakfast on Thursday mornings at Fishers Restaurant.Surviving are four children Kim (Mike) Touhey of Bemus Point, Susan (Tom Kane) Cook of Frewsburg, Michael (Karen) Cook of Rapid City, SD and Jeanne (Gale Betts) Kaczar of Bemus Point; five grandchildren Ryan (Ashley) Kaczar, Joseph (Jillian) Kaczar, Andrew Lusk, Kelly (Kendall Yeskey) Kaczar and Alison Woodward and eleven great grandchildren.Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Roger Bigney, whom she married October 26, 1974, and who died December 30, 2018; Three brothers David, Larry and Franklin Coan and three sisters Pauline Vincent, Dee Clark and Mary Lou Person.In keeping with Char's wishes no funeral service or visitation will be observed.Memorials may be made by Celoron Volunteer Fire Department, 92 Dunham Ave, Jamestown, NY 14701 or Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
