Cedric Lamar Elery Jr., lovingly called "Ceddy," was born on April 6, 2003, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to his mother Tomika Nelson (who preceded him in death) and Father Cedric Lamar Elery Sr.At an early age, Cedric Jr. accepted Christ and was baptized at Greater St. John Bible Church under Rev. Ira J. Acree's leadership. He cherished attending church, and when his great-grandmother, Mother Greene needed a ride to church, he would always be right by her side.Cedric Jr. attended Leslie Lewis Elementary School and graduated from Foreman High School. Always eager to dress well, he coordinated his outfits from his shades to his shoes. Ceddy was highly creative, enjoying designing pillows, blankets, and prints for various occasions. His ambitious spirit was a gift passed down from his mother, Tomika, which he shared with his late sister Dashawwna and like his sister, Ceddy loved shopping and spending time with family and friends.Cedric Jr. was nicknamed Ceddy by his cousin Ashley as a baby. However, he received other various names from his family such as Bingo, Fat Jack, Blow Fish, and was fondly known as pumpkin by his grandparents Barbara and Charles. The most important calling for Cedric Jr., however, was from his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On March 2nd, 2026 at 9:57 pm God called Ceddy home to his eternal rest, free from hospitals, needles, and chemotherapy.Preceding him in death are his mother Tomika Nelson, sister Dashawwna Threat, and both his grandmothers Gloria Matlock, Barbara Elery and Uncle Sedgwick OsborneCedric Jr. is survived by his father, Cedric Elery Jr.; grandfathers, Charles Elery Sr. and Charles Nelson of Memphis, TN; two nieces, Jahnyla, and Sanlyah (Bella); and three uncles, Terrence Elery, Charles Elery Jr. (Sandra), and Anthony Matlock (Tanika). He is also remembered by his aunt, Sjavette as well as his great-aunts Brenda Martin, Ruby (Anthony), Sandra Barker of Richton Park, IL, Jewel, Charletie, and Charlotte of Memphis, TN; Vivien of Tombal, TN; and Patricia of Las Vegas, NV. His great-uncles include Walter Greene Jr. (Ida), Calvin Matlock (Carmelita), Clyde Matlock of Chicago, Rick, Conrad, and Michael all of Memphis, TN; Clyde of Ollie Branch, MS; and Larry of Bayhila, MS.Many deeply loved Cedric Jr., and his legacy will be fondly remembered by his two surrogate mothers, Trena McGregory and Michelle Huggins, along with numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends whom he considered family.
