Cecilia Young

Cecilia Ann Young, 74, of Dyer, Indiana, passed away on March 14, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in November 1951, she moved to Yuma, Arizona, in 1984. For more than thirty years, she served the Yuma County Library District in a variety of roles, beginning in Circulation and retiring as the Grants Funding Administrator. She was known for her deep dedication to community service, her steadfast support of the literary arts for both youth and adults, and her lifelong passion for learning, literature, and music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight Wayne and Barbara Louise Young, and her brother, Terry Wayne Young. She is survived by her two sons, Charles (Kaitlyn) Parsels of Bloomington, Illinois, and Cedric (Bryna) Parsels of Highland, Indiana, as well as five grandchildren: Aurelia, Avery, Daphne, Elena, and Bennett.

A private ceremony will be held in Chicago, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Library at the Main Library Branch of the Yuma County Library District.
