A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at The Chapel, 1500 N Thornton Street, Clovis, NM, with a rosary to follow at 6:00 pm at The Chapel. A second rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 9:30 am, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 108 Davis Street. Mass of the Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am, with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Texico Cemetery at 374, Curry Road 8, Texico, NM. Lilo Montaño, John Montano, Mateo Montaño, Ambrose Aragon, Cesar Alires, Marcos Ortiz, Donald Montaño, Jr and Greg Nunez will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Adalberto Favila and all of Cecil's grandchildren.Cecil was born on August 03, 1932 in Santa Rosa, NM, to Cesario Sr. and Emelia Montaño. He married Alice Padilla on January 5, 1952 in Clovis, NM. Cecil retired from the New Mexico Portal of Entry. His favorite past times included hunting and playing bass guitar at church events. Cecil was also a meat cutter and worked masonry, as well as spending time with all of his grandchildren teaching them the value of life.Cecil is survived by his wife of 74 years; Alice Montaño, children; Roseann Alires and her husband Rudy, Vicki Cleveland and her husband Mark, Donna Sisneros and her husband Mike, Robert Montaño and his wife Margaret, Donald Montaño and his partner Mary, brother; Benny Montaño, 28 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and 29 great-great grandchildren.
