Cathy Sue Mudd

Cathy Sue (Reynolds) Mudd, 71 of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 28, 2026.

She was born on January 9, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to William Beecher and Helen Marie (King) Reynolds.

Cathy was the oldest of 7 children: Gary Reynolds, Debbie Lynch, Larry Reynolds, Jerry Reynolds, Anna Anderson-Curry and Orlena Hager.

She married Sammie Dale Mudd on August 27, 1983 in Indianapolis.

Cathy was a graduate of Ben Davis High School. She worked in the cafeteria at West Newton Elementary School many years ago, then was a package handler for several years before retiring from NAPA Balkamp. Cathy most enjoyed spending time with her dog Buddy and flower gardening in her yard.

Cathy is preceded in death by her husband, Sammie Dale Mudd; parents, William Beecher and Helen Marie (King) Reynolds; brother, Larry Reynolds.

She is survived by her four children: son, Terry (Missy) Phillips of Noblesville, IN; daughters, Shari (Brian) Moore of Avon, IN, Angela Mudd of Breese, IL, Michelle (Brian) Schrage of St.Rose, IL; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township Funeral Center, located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46222.

A memorial service will follow at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Dr. Carolyn Scanlan-Holmes will officiate.
