Cathy Sistare

LANCASTER, SC ~ Catherine Moore Sistare, lovingly known as “Cathy,” passed away at the age of 64. Born on July 7, 1961, in Lancaster, Cathy was a lifelong resident of the community she loved so dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. Moore and Francis O’F. Moore.

Survived by her devoted husband, Reggie Sistare; her daughter, Paige Sistare Kubiak and her husband, Justin, and son, Nolan; her son, Joseph Sistare, his fiancée, Jessika Lester, and daughter, Jaylee; her brother, Tom Moore and his wife, Paula, and sons, Rhett and Tyler and children. She cherished her family deeply and took immense pride in each of them.

A woman of strong and unwavering faith, Cathy was actively involved in her church and lived her beliefs daily through kindness, compassion, and service to others. She was loved by all who met her and was known for her warm spirit and the wonderful sense of humor she inherited from her father.

Cathy dedicated many years of service to the Lancaster County Natural Gas Authority, where she was not only a valued employee but a beloved friend to her coworkers and a familiar, friendly face to customers throughout the community.

She shared a deep passion for horses and animals with her family and could often be found supporting them at horse shows, barrel races, and roping events. Whether cheering from the sidelines or sharing in the excitement of the day, she treasured those moments spent together.

Cathy’s legacy is one of faith, love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, Lancaster, SC, officiated by Pastor Tracy Pope and Pastor Marie Proctor. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, at Burgess Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Bethel Christian Community Church, 4146 Shiloh Unity Rd, Lancaster, SC, 29720 or to Tanners Hope, 857 Coachman Dr., Simpsonville, SC 29681.
