Catherine Reser

Cathy Reser, daughter of Nelle and DeWitt Jones, passed away on March 17, 2026. Cathy was born on April 24, 1933, in St. Louis, MO. She and her beloved husband, Bill, moved to Springfield, MO in 1958 with their son Ron.

Cathy was regularly active in playing Bridge, volunteer work in various organizations, and being a homemaker. She was Executive Secretary of Southeast Rotary for 25 years and felt remarkably close to all the members.

Cathy’s family was her greatest love. Her husband Bill, who passed away in September of 2008, her son Ron, and daughter-in-law Becky, who Cathy loved unconditionally as her real daughter. Also, Norma Reser, a very dear friend and the wife of Bill’s cousin Jack survive Cathy.

Cathy was a great believer in the Boys and Girls Town and was a volunteer for them for over 20 years.

After the death of her husband, Cathy transferred to Covenant Presbyterian Church. She loved being a deacon and she thought of them also as family.

All flowers and memorial contributions are to go to the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks.

Services will be held at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home on Saturday, March 21, at 11:00 AM.
