Catherine Jones

Catherine Jones, 72, of New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, March 6, 2026.

A proud graduate of New Iberia Senior High School, Class of 1971, Catherine went on to earn a degree in Business Administration from Delta College. She was a longtime and devoted member of Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church, where she served faithfully as church secretary for more than twenty-five years. In addition to her administrative role, she served as a Eucharistic Minister, was an active member of the Katherine Drexel Society, and previously belonged to the Saint Edward Booster Club.

Catherine is survived by her son, Paul Anthony Phillips, Jr. of Broussard; daughters Brandy Marie Phillips of Baton Rouge and Tiffany Ann Phillips of Saint Martinville; six grandchildren, Kyelon Michael Hill (Dakari), Jaiclyn Makienze Phillips, Dillan Ghian Phillips, Kayden Anthony Hugan, Tanner John Gardner, and Kalani Catherine Hugan; one great-grandchild, Braxton Hill; and four brothers, Francis Jones, Sr. (Linda), Nelson Jones (Jeanette) of New Iberia, Raymond Jones (Tina) of Lafayette, and Johnny Jones (Mary) of Saint Martinville, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Early Jones and Lorena George Jones; two grandchildren, Kayson Anthony Hill and Kaylie Hill; two sisters, Mary Ann Jones Chretien and Hilda Rose Jones Stutts; brother-in-law William “Doc” Chretien; and niece Joanette Jones.
