Catherine "Casie" E. Butler

Shorewood, WI

Catherine E. Butler of Shorewood, WI passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the age of 59. "Casie" was born in Milpitas, CA on July 9, 1966. She graduated from Le Cordon Bleu University in Pasadena, CA with her degree in culinary arts and pursued her career as a personal chef.Casie was creative and artistic. She often made beaded jewelry as gifts for those she loved and for herself. She took pleasure in cooking and canning. She painted rocks and gnome houses for her family and friends, enjoyed gardening and taking special care of her orchids. In her downtime Casie loved to crochet and take photos of the beautiful scenery she found on long walks. She was an avid reader and would quite literally "read a library out of books". Casie had an actual spreadsheet for all the books she read so she wouldn't read the same book twice. She was known for her intelligence, quick wit and non-stop bragging about her fantasy football team, "Barracuda's Mom" that she played with her family. Her family will always remember her love of the ocean, lighthouses, yellow roses, yellow houses, hummingbirds and her extra attention to detail when wrapping beautiful gifts with matching bows, ribbons and ornaments attached to each gift.Casie's memory will be cherished by those who knew her best. She is survived by her daughter Samantha (Kirk) Cange; her sister Samantha Williams; grandchildren Matthew, Charlie, Cassandra, Scarlett and Willow; nephews Akiva and Avigdor. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Butler, grandparents Roy and Eileen Bell.Casie's family will celebrate her life privately.Casie visited the Library of Congress with her daughter in Washington D.C. when on vacation. Because of her love of reading, the family requests memorials in Casie's name be given to the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, Library of Congress at www.loc.gov/philanthropy/online-donation/fund
