Catherine Delma Moore

Catherine Delma Moore, age 71, of Pittsboro, North Carolina, passed away on March 9, 2026, at UNC Chatham Hospital in Siler City, surrounded by peace and comfort.

Born on March 4, 1955, in Chatham County to the late Burton Thomas Moore Sr. and Shirley Ardelia Dark, Catherine graduated from Northwood High School in 1973. She was a devoted mother who raised three children with deep affection and extended that same unconditional love to her nieces and nephews, treating each as her own. Known for her genuine and loving spirit, she formed special bonds with everyone in her life and remained a steadfast source of warmth and strength.

Catherine began her spiritual journey at Staunton Memorial CME Church in Pittsboro. Later in life she became a Jehovah’s Witness, faithfully attending the Kingdom Hall and finding genuine acceptance among her brothers and sisters there. She faced her long illness with remarkable courage, holding firmly to her faith in Jehovah each day.

She was preceded in death by her brothers David Moore and Burton Moore Jr., and her niece Ashley Moore. Catherine is survived by her sons Timothy Moore of Pittsboro and Jaspen Pratt of Greensboro, her daughter Tameka Pratt of the home, her brothers Chris Moore and Earl Brooks of Pittsboro, her sister Jennifer Brooks, her sisters-in-law Ann Moore of Graham and Marilyn Moore of Pittsboro, and four grandchildren: Kelsey Moore, Kylee Moore, and Justice Cross of Pittsboro, and Ivory Pratt of Greensboro. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews who regarded her as a second mother, along with other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her kind and enduring spirit.
