Catherine Anne Fallin, born on April 18, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 83 after a period of declining health due to dementia.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Harriet Ellis. Catherine grew up in Brooklyn, attending Our Lady of Solace Catholic School and later Lafayette High School. In 1973 she married Nicholas Manfredi Sr. in New York, and the couple moved to Norfolk, Virginia, in 1983. For more than twenty-five years she worked in the baby department at the Norfolk Navy Exchange, retiring after a long and dedicated career. Nicholas predeceased her in 2001. She later found love again and married Robert Fallin in 2005; he passed away in 2017.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her sons George Anthony Pollice and Nicholas Anthony Manfredi Jr., her sisters Margaret “Pat” Gillis, Cecelia “Missy” Ellis, and Regina “Gina” Rodriguez, and her sister-in-law Brina Ellis.
She is survived by her daughters Jeannine Marty and her husband Paul of Wooster, Ohio, and Elizabeth Pollice of Gloucester, Virginia; her stepson Donald Manfredi of New York; her sisters Mary Scalia and Barbara Ellis, and her brothers Thomas, Dennis, and John Ellis and their families. Catherine was the proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, and she will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held.
