Catherine Ann Greer

Catherine Ann Greer passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 9, 2026, in Greenville County, South Carolina. Born in Greenville County to the late Eddie McBee, Sr. and Catherine Singleton McBee, she was the fourth of five children and grew up in a close-knit family that instilled in her strong values of love, faith, and community. Throughout her life, Catherine was known for her warm spirit, kindness, grace, and quiet strength. She touched countless lives through her genuine care for others and her deep appreciation for family bonds.

For many years, Catherine devoted herself to serving vulnerable children at Shriners Hospital, where her compassion, patience, and loving heart brought comfort and care to those in need. In her personal time, she found joy in simple pleasures such as playing cards, bowling, thrifting, and visiting casinos. She was a steadfast advocate for peace, unconditional love, forgiveness, and the importance of family.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie McBee, Sr. and Catherine Singleton McBee; her husband of sixty-seven years, Roger Greer; her son, Richard Eugene Greer; her brothers, Willie McBee and Eddie McBee; and her sister, Rozelle Collins.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Winston; her sister-in-law, Karen Greer; and her children: Charrisse (Winford) Moss, William (Sytrena) Greer, Eddie (Michelle) Greer, LaMont (Benita) Greer, Shirl (Bennie) Killingsworth, Emily Towyanna (Rev. W.O.) Harrison, Jr., Reverend Michael (Vickie) Greer, Tammy Greer McClain, and Timothy (Nezarene) Greer. She also leaves a host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever cherish her love, wisdom, and enduring legacy.
