Chicago, IL
Cassanita Mosley, affectionately known as Cassie or Cassie Pooh, was born on July 29, 1986, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edward Mosley and Angela Wiley. An outgoing, smart, and witty young woman, Cassie had a gift for making everyone she met feel seen and valued. She welcomed others with warmth and love, never meeting a stranger, and formed deep, lifelong friendships that remained cherished throughout her life.
She attended Leif Erickson Grammar School, graduated from Frederick Douglass Academy, and completed her studies at Westinghouse High School with the class of 2004. Cassie was employed by the United States Postal Service, United Airlines, and O’Keefe, LLC. Grounded in her faith, she walked courageously through life’s challenges, guided by the belief in walking by faith and not by sight. In July 2017, she received her greatest blessing and challenge when her daughter, KaMoura Linette Mosley, was born. Together they shared a beautiful bond filled with laughter, tears, conversations, and unwavering support.
Cassie found special joy in gathering with family and friends, sharing meals of fish, playing games, and expressing love freely. She was known as an intercessor, encourager, and prophet whose words carried weight and truth. Those who knew her felt important in her presence and will remember the strength and sincerity she brought to every relationship.
She was preceded in death by her father Edward Mosley, daddy Claude Snow Sr., brother Claude Snow Jr., grandmother Pearline Wiley, uncles Earl Brown and Ronald Wiley, aunt Kawana L. Woolridge, and cousins Juanita Seaton and Ronald Wiley. Cassie leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter KaMoura Linette Mosley, her mother Apostle Angela (Kenneth) Thomas, her 90-year-old grandmother Militine Mosley, and her siblings Rodney Mosley, Regina (Terrance) Mosley, Bryan (Melissa) Snow, Fontella Snow, and Barney (Linda) Kyle, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
