November 9, 1965— March 4, 2026
Valdosta, GA
Cassandra Lindor, affectionately known as Bee, Sandra, or San, was born in Valdosta, Georgia, to Addie Bell Trueblood and Isaac White. After falling ill as a small child, she was lovingly taken in and raised primarily by her aunt, Ada Mae Trueblood. The family later moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where she began her early education, and then to Fort Pierce, Florida, during her middle school years.
Cassandra embraced motherhood at a young age with the birth of her oldest son, Terry Jr., whom she raised with the support of his father, Terry Sr., and her extended family. In 1984, she married Haitian immigrant Jephete Lindor, and together they welcomed a daughter that August. Though the marriage ended after two years, they continued to co-parent while Cassandra worked multiple jobs, including in fast food restaurants, to provide for her children. By 1989, she earned her certification as a nursing assistant and began a long career in healthcare, first with the Sandpiper Cluster in Martin County and later in various nursing facilities. A longtime resident of St. Lucie County, she later had two more children, Martavious and Azaria. In 2007, she returned to Valdosta, Georgia, with her youngest daughter, where she was highly regarded for her dedication and skill as a veteran nursing assistant. She continued in the nursing field into her early fifties before health challenges forced her retirement.
Cassandra shared a deep love of music and dance with her oldest son, Terry, blessed with a beautiful singing voice that she enjoyed sharing while doing household chores with her children. Though naturally shy, her voice allowed her to shine. She was an avid reader and scholar who spent countless evenings helping her oldest daughter, Taquetta, with homework and discussing literature. In her later years, she delighted in playing video games with Azaria and embracing her love of anime and K-pop. She took great pride in connecting with each of her children through their individual passions. Her youngest son, Martavious, born with a medical condition that kept him from living with the family long-term, inherited many of her distinctive features, including her fair complexion and round, expressive face.
Cassandra is survived by her mother, Addie Bell Leonard; the aunt who helped raise her, Ada Mae Jones; her stepfather, Joseph Leonard; her children, Terry Jr., Taquetta, and Azaria; and her grandchildren, Alexus, Destiny, Anthon Jr., and Ahmany. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara, Theresa, Sheila, Niecey, and Angela; her brothers, Walter “Louis,” Toney, and Jermaine; her son-in-law, Anthony Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac White; the uncle who helped raise her, Nathanial Bates; her youngest son, Martavious; her grandmother, Mary Lee Mency White (“Nanny”); her uncle, Charles Trueblood; and her aunt, Katie Mae White.
