Cary Arlo Bare, 73, of Kinmundy, Illinois, passed away on March 12, 2026, at his home. Born on February 13, 1953, in Canyonville, Douglas County, Oregon, he was the son of Glenn Darrel and June Louise (Werner) Bare.

A dedicated U.S. Army veteran, Cary first enlisted in 1971 and served nearly three years before rejoining in 1977. He retired as a Sergeant in 1994 after a distinguished career that included time as a drill sergeant. Following his military service, he worked as a semi-truck driver for several companies, most recently with Marvin Keller Trucking, Inc. For the past 23 years, he shared his life with his significant other, Joyce Anita (Gelsinger) Frailey.

Cary was known for his disciplined approach to life and his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing, and took pride in teaching his grandchildren through exercises and drills drawn from his military experience. He is survived by Joyce Frailey of Kinmundy; her children, Logan Frailey Jr. and Tierney Isbill of Shobonier, Anthony Frailey and wife Kathy of Georgia, and Heather Frailey and Jeff Fogler of Shobonier; his grandchildren, Addysin, Zoey, Annabelle, Jaqualine, Rylee, Serenity, Andrew, Gemma, Tyler, Tymber, Kirsten, Shelby, Dylan, Ashton, Hailey, and Olivia; and many great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
