Carroll Eleanor Dinse, born Neben on August 8, 1936, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to the Rev. Edward and Emma (Schmidt) Neben, passed away on March 15, 2026. Baptized by her father on September 6, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochfort Bridge, Alberta, she later renewed her baptismal vows through confirmation on July 16, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church in Crookston, Nebraska. At the age of fifteen she began serving as a church organist, faithfully playing for worship services for the next fifty-five years.

A dedicated educator, Carroll earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Chadron State College in 1959 and a Master’s Degree in Reading Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1975. She taught for thirty-five years in elementary schools, Lutheran schools, and high schools, touching the lives of countless students through her patience and commitment.

On May 29, 1960, Carroll married George Dinse at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point, Nebraska. Together they raised three children: Ronald George, Douglas John, and Debra Gail. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Douglas, brother-in-law Gordon Waterman, nieces Linda and Kathy Waterman, and nephew David Martensen.

Carroll is survived by her husband George; son Ronald (Susan) of Duncan, Oklahoma; daughter Debra (Mike) Kellum of Oklahoma City; daughter-in-law Robynn Dinse of Crescent, Oklahoma; granddaughter Jennifer (Daniel) Andary of Yukon, Oklahoma; grandsons Brandon (Kaitlyn) Buchanan of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Curtis Buchanan of Ada, Oklahoma, Peyton (KaiAnn) Buchanan of Perkins, Oklahoma, and Will Kellum of Oklahoma City; and seven great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kate, and Caulder Andary, and Beau, Hudson, Emerson, and Rhett Buchanan. She is also survived by her brother Ronald (Sharon) Neben of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters Arlene Waterman of Tomball, Texas, Marilyn Dowell of Grapevine, Texas, and Judi (Les) Korte of Hallam, Nebraska; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
