Carrol Jackson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on Mar. 16, 2026.Carrol Elaine Jackson, 67, of Oklahoma City, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 15, 2026. She was the beloved wife of her high school sweetheart, Steve Jackson.Carrol dedicated her life to living out her faith and serving others, especially children. Early on, she was the Children's Minister and Pre-school Director at Sunnylane United Methodist Church, where she touched countless young lives. Later on in life, Carrol served as Assistant Children's Supervisor for the Moore Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) class, and was known for her unwavering devotion as a wife, mother, Gran, sister and friend. She was an amazing caregiver to her husband Steve, especially during his battle with Lewy Body Dementia.Carrol's love for music was evident in her years singing in the choir, including a memorable performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the Sunnylane Choir. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying pickleball and exercise with friends at Choctaw Road, and traveling to some of her favorite destinations, Austria, Italy and Colorado. Carrol cherished time with her grandchildren, attending their many sporting and school events, and celebrating their birthdays with special shopping days. She loved playing board games, poker, wahoo and dominoes with family and friends and her home was always filled with the sounds of the Great American Family Channel.Carrol's heart for service extended beyond her family. She volunteered with the Whiz Kids after-school tutoring program, the Eastern Oklahoma County Resource Center (EOCRC), and always in the church nursery, caring for children of all ages. She was a dedicated bell collector, a passionate supporter and organizer of Vacation Bible School, and a tireless prayer warrior. Carrol was known for her selflessness, kindness, and her ability to make everyone-family or stranger-feel loved.Carrol is survived by her son Garrett Jackson and his wife Cassie; daughter Holli Hernandez and her husband Sal; daughter Kendra Karnes and her husband Paul; and her beloved grandchildren AJ, Quinn, Lily, Sophia, Sabrina, Ethan, Allison, and Meredith. She is also survived by her siblings Dewayne Johnson, Barbara Beats, and Luellen Chenoweth. Carrol was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Vaughnia Johnson, and her husband Steve.Carrol's legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in all who knew her.A celebration of life service will be held on Friday March 20th, 2026 at Choctaw Road Baptist Church, 14971 E. Reno Ave. at 10am.
