Gun Barrel City, TX
Carrie Aline Bogden, age 81, of Gun Barrel City, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born in Dawson, Texas on July 10, 1944, to Walter Garner and Carrie Lee (O’Field) Middleton, Carrie lived a vibrant life marked by her bold spirit and unfiltered honesty.
In her younger years she performed as a burlesque dancer, delighting in her unique flair and infectious humor. For more than four decades she worked as a store manager, where her straightforward manner and quick wit earned the respect and laughter of those around her. She had a gift for telling it like it was, often leaving family and friends in stitches with her sharp observations and humorous quips.
Carrie cherished her daughters, Jackie, whom she called her “baby girl” and who was known as the responsible one, and Lillian, known as the “big girl” and often the rebellious one. Both held a special place in her heart. She took great pride in caring for her granddaughter Denise and beamed with joy at the accomplishments of her daughter Jackie and granddaughter Julia. She found simple pleasures in garage sales, shopping, playing the lottery, and dancing, a passion she loved to share with others. Earning her GED later in life was one of her proudest achievements.
Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Carrie Middleton; her husband, Francis Howard Bogden; her brothers, Harvey, Roy, Gene, and Jay Middleton; and her sisters, Katie Middleton Gunter and Joanne Middleton. She is survived by her daughters Jackie Bogden of Wylie, Texas, and Lillian Lawson Rogers and husband Albert Rogers of Gun Barrel City, Texas, along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, foster grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and loved ones.
