Wages Funeral Service - Snellville on Mar. 7, 2026.Carolyn Williams Hood, age 85, of Snellville, Georgia, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 5, 2026.She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde & Vera Brownlee Williams; sister, Hazel Williams Moon (George); three brothers, Carvis Williams (Nancy), Lamar Williams (Mary Alice), and Dennis Williams (Wynette); father & mother-in-law, John and Tommye Hood.Carolyn is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Ken Hood; son & daughter-in-law, Greg Hood (Michelle); daughter & son-in-law, Teresa Hood Monteon (Bryan), grandchildren, Lindsey Alonzo (Eric), Lauren Holder (Heath), Paige Johnson (Anderson), and Paden Hood; great grandchildren, Scout Holder, Will Henry Johnson, and Baby Boy Alonzo (due in May); numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.Born on September 11, 1940, in Snellville, Georgia, she was raised on the Williams family dairy farm, one of the last working farms in Snellville located at the present-day Piedmont Hospital on Ronald Reagan Parkway. She was a member of the first graduating class of South Gwinnett High School in 1958. Carolyn was a woman of strong faith in the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church of Snellville where she was active for over 70 years. In 1960, she married Ken Hood of Lawrenceville in the Old Rock Chapel at her beloved church.Carolyn had a deep love for her family, cooking, and gardening. Many of these talents are currently being embraced by her grandchildren. She loved the old hymns of faith, attending Southern Gospel singings and many treasured trips with her close friends. Nothing, however, brought her greater happiness than time spent with grandchildren. This wonderful southern lady will be deeply missed by her adoring family and many friends. Well, done good and faithful servant.The Service to Honor and Remember the Life of Carolyn Williams Hood will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at The Church on Main (First Baptist Church of Snellville) with Dr. James Merritt and Rev. Brian Boyles officiating. The Barnabas Sunday School Class are asked to serve as an Honorary Escort and please assemble at the church by 10:45 A.M. Interment will follow at the Snellville Historical Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12th, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Tom M.
