Carolyn Putman Stacy

Carolyn Putman Stacy, 83, of Blacksburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Cherokee Medical Center. Born in Clifton, South Carolina, she was the widow of Terry Shuford Stacy and the daughter of the late Hobart William and Nellie Dorman Putman. A 1960 graduate of Blacksburg High School, Carolyn worked for many years as a supervisor in the textile industry and was a longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Eric Stacy (Dena); her grandson, Brayden Stacy; her brother, Kenny Putman (Betty Sue); and her sisters, Ruby Starnes and Martha McCraw. Carolyn was preceded in death by her infant son, Jeffery Scott Stacy; her brothers, Paul, Frank, Edward, George, and Charles Putman; and her sisters, Louise Putman and Vinnie Miller.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and sister whose quiet strength and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
