March 23, 1956— March 11, 2026
Remington, IN
Carolyn Jean Crawford Noe, daughter of Charles Frederick Crawford and Barbara Del Reed Crawford, was born on March 23, 1956, in Carson City, Michigan. She cherished fond memories of time spent with her father, who affectionately called her his “Sweetie Pie.” On August 24, 1988, she and Larry Rickard Noe eloped in Clarksville, Tennessee. Carolyn faced cancer with remarkable courage, winning several battles before succumbing on March 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn possessed a servant’s heart and devoted much of her life to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. She often said her favorite and most rewarding role was serving as lead teacher for newborns to three-year-olds with developmental disabilities. She found deep fulfillment in watching those she served grow, gain employment, marry, and build families of their own, sometimes even becoming grandparents.
She held a special love for Michigan, where her heart always remained. Carolyn adored the water and spent as much time as possible in it or on it. She frequently told others that heaven, in her mind, looked very much like Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Barbara Crawford, her older sister Linda Crawford Baker, and her niece Katherine “Kate” Baker. Carolyn is survived by her husband Larry Noe, her daughter Jessica Weller (Joan), her siblings Bill Crawford (Pamela), Elizabeth “Beth” Crawford, Heather O’Neil (Jon), and Richard Crawford (Diana), her brother-in-law John Baker, her grandson Jonathan Noe (Tiffany), her great-grandsons Knox and Nash Noe, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
