Carolyn Faye Dillard

Carolyn Faye Dillard, age 80, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Rome, Georgia. Born on October 26, 1945, in Rome, she remained a lifelong resident of the community she held dear.

Carolyn devoted twenty-one years of her professional life to the Floyd County Superior Clerk’s Office, serving with passion, commitment, and a strong work ethic that earned her the deep respect of her colleagues and the citizens of Floyd County.

She found joy in shopping, tending her garden, and cheering for her beloved Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. While she appreciated occasional visits to the beach, she most cherished quiet time at home with her family and her beloved fur grandbaby, Milo. A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, Carolyn lived by her Christian values and found great meaning in the church community she helped nurture.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Dillard of Calhoun, Georgia; her brother, Jack Hobgood of Rome, Georgia; and her sisters, Nan Compton (Wayne) of Rome, Georgia, and Betty Terhune of Rome, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Dillard; her parents, Carl Hobgood and Dorothy Tolbert Hobgood.
