Carolyn Faye Dillard, age 80, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Rome Georgia. Carolyn was born on October 26, 1945, in Rome, she was a lifelong resident of the community she cherished deeply.

Carolyn dedicated her professional life to the Floyd County Superior Clerk’s Office, where she served with passion and commitment for twenty one years until the age of 80. Devotion to public service was evident in her exemplary work ethic and the respect she earned from her colleagues and the citizens of Floyd County.

In her personal life, Carolyn enjoyed her time spent shopping, nurturing her garden, and cheering on her beloved Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. Though she enjoyed visiting the beach, she often preferred the comforts of home, where she could share precious moments with her family and her cherished fur baby, Milo. Carolyn was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church; faith was central to her life. She took pride in her Christian values and the community she fostered within her church.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Michelle Dillard of Calhoun, GA; her brother, Jack Hobgood of Rome, GA; her sisters, Nan Compton (Wayne) of Rome, GA, and Betty Terhune of Rome, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Hobgood and Dorothy Tolbert Hobgood.

A visitation for Ms. Dillard will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory from 12:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 2:00 PM.

Funeral Services to honor and celebrate the life of Ms. Carolyn Faye Dillard will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM from The Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Josh Pilgrim and Sherry Shore officiating. Following the funeral service, Ms. Dillard will be laid to rest at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with David Compton, Cliff Terhune, Jeff Kennerly, Kyle Kennerly, Melvin Burchett, and Mike Shore serving as pallbearers.

Carolyn Faye Dillard leaves behind a legacy marked by service, love, and faith that will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve and care for the family of Ms. Carolyn Faye Dillard.
