Carolyn Elaine Bolen Obituary March 12, 2026 - Blair Stubbs Funeral Home

Mexia, TX

Carolyn "Elaine" Bolen of Mexia, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, while listening to music and surrounded by the nurses who cared for her. Born in Boise, Idaho on April 29, 1944, to Wes and Carol Lyons, Elaine grew up with a big laugh, a bigger heart, and a natural gift for caring that defined her life.

A retired nurse and lifelong nurturer, Elaine was a compassionate caregiver, loyal friend, and devoted partner to her late husband, Bill "Pop" Bolen. Together they delighted in grandparenting, spoiling their grandchildren with affection and feigning innocence when gently scolded. Her laughter filled every room, her sarcasm was legendary, and her commitment to her patients and fellow nurses remained steadfast. She was always the first to offer help, a good story, or a listening ear, giving of herself freely even when it worried those who loved her most.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill "Pop," and her sister Judy Wohlert. Elaine is survived by her children, Jim Junkin of Lynnwood, Washington, Angela Richter of Hewitt, Texas, and Lisa Miklojachak of Mexia, Texas; her grandchildren, Patricia Gaylor, Elene Junkin, Nathan Junkin, PFC Jeremy Junkin, DJ Bartlett, Clint Bartlett, Marie Aping, Jasmine Bartlett, Damian Miklojachak Jr., Jessica Cisneros, Savannah Miklojachak, and Vivian Miklojachak; and her great-grandchildren, Kenneth, Brandon, Evie, SJ, Jackson, Sophie, Noah, Vera, and Seamus.

Elaine lived fully in the moment, laughed without restraint, and loved without limits. Her family finds comfort knowing she is reunited with Pop, sharing laughter and perhaps planning one last mischievous adventure.
