Caroline Anne Grocki Hall

January 13, 1934 March 7, 2026

South Burlington, VT

Caroline Anne Grocki Hall, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by family at The Residence at Quarry Hill in South Burlington, Vermont.

Born on January 13, 1934, in Binghamton, New York, Caroline was the daughter of Polish immigrants Ignatz Grocki and Helen (Wysocki) Grocki. The youngest and longest-living of seven children, she grew up in Binghamton’s First Ward on Wilson Street, proud of her Polish heritage and the strong family traditions that shaped her life. She graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1952.

Caroline spent much of her life in the Southern Tier of New York, where she worked for many years as a patent secretary at the Chernin & Gold law firm and later with the Binghamton Chamber of Commerce. Deeply connected to her roots, she traveled to Poland several times and, in 1960, served as Binghamton’s Community Ambassador to her ancestral homeland. For 57 years she shared a loving marriage with her husband Donald Hall, who predeceased her in 2020. Together they built a life centered on family, community, and friendship, enjoying travels to Bermuda and Vermont, their local wine club, and time spent with those they held dear.

Known for her quick wit and candid spirit, Caroline was a devoted baker whose lekvar cake and apple pie were beloved by family and friends. A lifelong Catholic, she remained active in her local churches. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald and sons Andrew Hall and Thomas Hall.

Caroline is survived by her daughter-in-law Alida Hall and her children Peter and Ruby; her son Matthew Hall and his wife Takako, and their children Michelle and Alex; her daughter Krystyna Hall and her husband John Pettengill, and their son Nathaniel; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. After spending her final six years in South Burlington, Vermont, she is now at rest with her beloved Donald.
