Carole Sue Bracher of Holly Springs, North Carolina, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on June 4, 1944, in Avon Park, Florida, to Rose (York) and Albert Karl Schneider. Carole grew up in northern Illinois in the towns of Mundelein, Grayslake, and Libertyville. After graduating from Libertyville High School in 1962, she attended Moser Secretarial School in Chicago and began a long career as a legal secretary and paralegal.
In 1961, Carole met James Herbert Bracher in high school biology class. They dated during high school and reconnected after Jim returned from service in the U.S. Air Force. They married on August 6, 1966, and together raised two daughters, Kari and Kristy. Over the years, Carole lived in Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and North Carolina. She worked as a paralegal for 47 years before retiring in 2009.
She was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2020. Carole is survived by her sister Ruth Ellen Pool, her daughters Kari (Brad) Zimmers and Kristy (Tom) Hanninen, her grandsons Zackary (Lynn) Zimmers and Austin Zimmers, and her great-granddaughter Josephine Zimmers.
Carole was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who often said the greatest moments of her life were the births of her daughters, grandsons, and great-granddaughter. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be profoundly missed.
