Carole James
Newport, TN
Carole JamesBorn: November 29, 1939 | Died: March 7, 2026Carole Hall James, born November 29, 1939, was welcomed into the sweet arms of Jesus on March 7, 2026, after many long, hard-fought battles in this life. Her life was a true testament to holding onto the hem of His garment through all of life's ups and downs. She was loved by far too many to count, but she is especially and deeply missed by her daughter and caretaker, Myra Ann Mooneyham; son-in-law (her favorite son-in-law), Charles Mooneyham; daughter, Regenia Ford (Harvey) grandchildren Daniel "Boone" James (Kim), Myra Roxanne Bledsoe (Dustin), LeShea Carole Cody (Brandon), Amelia Celeste Raines (Chase), Davey Ford, and Petchula Ford; her special niece Amanda Cole; and brothers Grant Hall and Jed Hall. She also leaves behind 11 beautiful great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind her dear friends , Aileen Strange, Peggy Hall and Charlie Grooms, who have stayed by her side and cared for her so deeply, and so many loved ones by blood and by heart. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben James; her two sons, Lennie and Marty James, whom she loved more than words, her mother and father, Ottis and Carrine Hall; and her brothers, Lynn, Ronnie, and Dwight Hall. The family also wants to say a special thank you to the team at Tennova Newport, especially Gina James for her wonderful care and for the employees at Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. She accepted Jesus as her Savior when she was 11 years old and has been a faithful follower of Christ ever since. She never met someone who didn't immediately fall in love with her beautiful face and her even more beautiful heart and soul. Anything she ever cooked didn't last long in the fellowship hall at church, and everyone had their favorite dishes and requests that she loved to fix for them. Her love for the Lord shined from the inside and out. And though her family knows she is dancing on those beautiful streets of gold with more crowns than she can carry, our hearts are broken, and we are looking toward the day we see her again. She is our beautiful angel until then. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Valley View Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Wilson and Austin Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the James Family Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m., prior to the services on Wednesday at Valley Baptist Church. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com.
