Carole was born in Washington DC on July 30, 1937, to Mildred and Alfred Clarke. She was the second of 4 children. Carole graduated from Notre Dame High school and went on to attend the Washington Secretarial School. She worked for the CIA, Xerox, and Amato Industries. She then went on to receive a certification in government contracting from the University of Virgina and became a manager in government contracting for AT&T.Carole was preceded in death by her husbands Joseph F Amato Jr. and Brady Maguire; her parents Alfred and Mildred Clarke; and her brothers Ronald and Richard Clarke.She is survived by her sister Patricia Clarke; her children Joseph F Amato III (Joy), Susan Greenberg, Michael Amato, and James Amato (Kathy); her grandchildren Heather Reilly, Kimberly St. Clair, Melissa Wayson, Sophie Greenberg, Olivia Greenberg, Lisa Clemmons, Sara Sugrue, Joseph Amato and Andrew Amato; and her greatgrandchildren Makenzie Reilly, Daniel Reilly, Avery St. Clair, Brooklyn St. Clair, Colton St. Clair, Clayton Townshend Jr., Carter Clemmons and Graham Greenberg.Carole's beautiful smile, kindness, and generosity of spirit touched the lives of many. Her memory will remain in our hearts as we cherish the moments we shared together. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.A viewing to celebrate the life of Carole Amato will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday March 26, 2026 at Money & King Funeral Home at 171 Maple Ave W, Vienna, Virginia 22180.A funeral mass will be held on Friday March 27th at 11:00 at St. Mark Catholic Church located at 9970 Vale Rd. Vienna, Va 22181 followed by a burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Md.Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.orgTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
