Carole Ann Derksen
August 17, 1940— March 7, 2026
Wisconsin Rapids, WI
Carole Ann Derksen passed away on March 7, 2026, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 17, 1940, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, she was one of five children of Leslie and Delores (Driscoll) Tack. Carole cherished her early years growing up on the family farm with her siblings.
As a young woman, she and her sisters moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she worked for Allen-Bradley. There she formed many lifelong friendships and met her future husband, Robert Derksen. The couple married in 1968 and settled in Wisconsin Rapids, where Robert began his career with the Department of Natural Resources. Together they raised their two sons, Dean and Dain. When the boys were teenagers, Carole began working at Wood County Telephone Company, from which she eventually retired. In her retirement years she devoted many hours to volunteering at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and with Meals on Wheels. She and Bob remained active, enjoying the gym, travel, and gardening, yet her greatest happiness always came from time spent with family and friends.
Carole is survived by her sons, Dean of Sheboygan and Dain (wife Eve) of Green Bay, and her grandsons Bret and Reese of Sheboygan. She is also survived by her dear friend Audrey and many other family members and friends she held close. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her siblings Marilyn, Janet, Calvin, and Larry.
