Carolann passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion.Born on February 28, 1946, in the bustling heart of Manhattan, NY, Carolann was the cherished daughter of the late James R. and Eleanor (Dunn) Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings-James R. Simmons, Jr., John Simmons, Judith Simmons-Curcio, and David Simmons-and her beloved grandson, Brian Russo.A bright and spirited soul, Carolann graduated from Sterling High School in Somerdale, NJ, in 1964. It was there she met her lifelong partner and high school sweetheart, Thomas A. Russo, Sr., with whom she shared a profound and enduring love. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising five children: Claire Mayone (Greg) of Raleigh, NC; Julianne Russo (Kevin Van Deursen) of Bethlehem, PA; Thomas A. Russo, Jr. (Stacey) of New Tripoli, PA; James G. Russo of Fountain Hill, PA; and Maria Russo – Diaz (fiancé Robert Burkart) of Richlandtown, PA.Carolann's career as an administrative assistant at the Bethlehem Parking Authority was marked by dedication and professionalism, and her work there was deeply valued until her retirement in 2000. Beyond her professional life, Carolann was a devoted Christian Catholic who lived her faith with grace and humility. She was known for her kind, caring spirit and a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew her. Her love of history and travel frequently drew her back to her cherished Manhattan, where her heart always remained, and led to joyful family vacations she put her entire heart into planning.Carolann's warmth and kindness extended not only to her family but also to her community. She is survived by her adoring husband, Thomas A. Russo, Sr., her children, and her siblings, Susan McAvoy (Daniel) of NJ and Carrie Simmons of OR. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren-Thomas A. Russo III, Michael Mayone, Ashley Mayone, David Potvin, Antonio Diaz, Noah Russo, Zachory Russo, Alicia Russo-and great-grandchildren, Brayden Russo, Thomas A. Russo IV, Allana Russo, Joseph Mayone, and Lucy Mayone, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.Service: A Celebration of Carolann's life will be announced at a later date.
