Carol Rose Kendrick Amberson, 80, of Beckville, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. Born on May 7, 1945, in Fairfield, Alabama, she was the daughter of Ruth Beason and William Dee Kendrick. A graduate of Fairfield High School, Carol went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Birmingham Southern College.
She married the love of her life, James Marshall Amberson, and together they shared 49 years of marriage before his passing in 2015. Carol was a woman of deep faith who loved Jesus and remained a devoted member of Green Acres Baptist Church, Pine Springs Baptist Church, and the First Baptist Church of Carthage. She found great joy in gardening, always sharing her homegrown vegetables, fruit, and pecans with family and friends. After retiring from outside sales, she and Jim enjoyed being active participants in the East Texas Farmer’s Market.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Kendrick, her sister Sharon Kendrick, and her husband James. She is survived by her three daughters, Janice Robinson and husband Cory of Beckville, Becky Gressett and husband Russ of Houston, and Amanda Newsom and husband Brent of Shawnee, Oklahoma; her grandchildren Tanner Robinson, Cody Robinson and wife Natalie, Beth Robinson, Conner Gressett, Katie Gingrich and husband Nathan, Kara Gressett, Anthony Newsom, and Molly Newsom; and her great-grandchildren Cooper and Wyatt Gingrich. She leaves behind many other loved ones and a wide circle of cherished friends.
