Carol Reé Moore

Carol Reé Moore

Bellevue, NE

Carol Reé Moore, 84, of Bellevue, Nebraska, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born Carol Reé Lowry on June 11, 1941, in Modesto, California, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Desireé Lowry. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald. Raised in Sacramento, she graduated from Sacramento High School as president of her senior class and later attended Sacramento State. She worked for the California Bureau of Motor Vehicles before marrying Air Force 1Lt Max R. Moore in Sacramento on June 18, 1960, just one week after her 19th birthday. Their loving marriage spanned nearly 65 years.

After seven years at Forbes AFB near Topeka, Kansas, where their daughter Vicki and son Patrick were born, military life took the family to Yokota AB in Japan and Kadena AB in Okinawa. In September 1969, they moved to Bellevue, Nebraska, when Major Moore was assigned to Offutt AFB, and it remained their home for the rest of her life.

Carol embraced the role of Air Force wife with grace and strength, becoming a devoted homemaker, mother, and grandmother. Though Max’s career often kept him away on long deployments, she held the family together with steadfast love and care. Family was always her priority. She was the foundation and heart of the Moore family, a woman whose warm smile and laughter lit up every room. Talented, compassionate, gracious, and sociable, she formed loyal friendships that lasted decades.

Carol volunteered eagerly with the PTA, Salvation Army, Red Cross, and youth scouting programs. She was active in Officer Wives Clubs, held leadership roles in the First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue and PEO sisterhood, and participated in a monthly book club and weekly ladies’ lunch group. An avid bowler and tennis player, she won the Fontenelle Hills Country Club women’s singles championship two years in a row in the mid-1980s and enjoyed traveling with her bowling teams to state and national tournaments. She and Max shared a love for travel, visiting friends across the United States and enjoying trips to the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, and beyond.

She is survived by her husband Max; daughter Vicki and her husband Richard Patten of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; their children Walker and Skye, and Madison and Haylie, all of Denver; son Patrick and his companion Lisa of Beaufort, South Carolina; and Patrick’s children Ethan of Chicago and Caroline and Clayton of Chicago.
