Born on January 24, 1944, she was the cherished daughter of Mary and Peter Schmidt and grew into a woman whose life was defined by kindness, quiet strength, faith, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved.Carol was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, daughter, and sister whose greatest joy came from her family. She is lovingly survived by her three daughters, Michele (Karl) Thiessenhusen, Debbie (Ed) Miller, and Gayle (John) Biggins. Carol was proud and deeply involved with her eight grandchildren Michael (Monica), Bryan (Catherine), Abby (fiancé Marty), Kevin, Emily, Haley, Lauren, and Brooke; and her three great-grandchildren Bryson, Matthew, and Zachary; each of whom held a special place in her heart.Carol especially adored Grizzly, Holly and Zoey her beloved "grand-dogs," who brought her endless smiles and comfort.As a daughter, Carol honored the legacy of her parents, Mary and Peter, by carrying forward their values of faith, generosity, and care for others. She is survived by her loving sister Harriet Lisiecki, and sister-in-law Gladys Schmidt, and was predeceased by her adored siblings Don Schmidt, Grace Kennedy, Marilyn Tomaszewski; all of whom she shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and family traditions.Those who knew Carol will remember her gentle spirit, her thoughtful listening ear, and the way she always made others feel seen and loved. Carol's quick wit and infectious laugh were contagious. Whether spending time with her grandchildren, keeping in close touch with her daughters, or staying connected with her family, Carol created a warm, welcoming circle around her. Her life was a quiet example of love in action…steady, loyal, and unconditional.A service will be held to celebrate Carol's life and the many ways she touched the hearts of others on March 27, 2026, with open visitation from 10:00 am-12:30 pm at St Dominic's Parish in Brookfield WI with a Catholic Mass to follow.The family wishes to say a special thank you to the staff at Saint Camillus and Saint Camillas Hospice for all the loving care provided.In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends and loved ones to honor Carol's memory through contributions to the Capuchin Community Services or simply by spending time with the people they love, sharing a story, a meal, or a simple act of kindness, just as she so often did.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
