Carol M. Vasas

Carol M. Vasas (née Fisher), 89, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on January 12, 1937, in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Inez and Robert Fisher. She grew up alongside her brothers, the late Robert Fisher Jr., the late Raymond Fisher (Lucy), and the late Mark Fisher.

Carol proudly served her country in the Navy and received an honorable discharge. After her military service, she devoted herself to raising her family. She was the beloved mother of Kathy Hamman (Matt), Kristine Caso (Frank), Nancy Vasas, and JoAnne Latonia (Rich). Her warmth, guidance, and steadfast love formed the heart of her family.

She was a cherished grandmother to Sarah, Matthew, Rachel, Frank Jr., Emily, Nicholas, and Zoie, and a loving great-grandmother to Sam and Olive. Carol’s sociable spirit and genuine interest in others created many deep friendships, most notably with Judy Groman and her family. Her strong Catholic faith guided her throughout her life, while her love of shopping and the companionship of her cats, Laverne and Shirley, brought her daily joy.

Carol will be remembered as a woman of kindness, patriotism, and quiet strength whose vibrant spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a family who will carry her love and values forward always.
