Carol Liege ObituaryPublished by Legacy from Mar. 9 to Mar. 10, 2026.Carol Steinfeldt Liege, age 82, most recently of Menefee, California, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026 surrounded by many of her loving family. Carol was born in Minneapolis, MN to Irving and Bernadette Steinfeldt on October 29, 1943. She grew up in Southwest Minneapolis, and entered Brandeis University at age 16 after skipping the 8th grade. After graduating Brandeis with honors, Carol went on to earn a Masters Degree in Psychiatric Social Work at Smith College. Despite her academic accolades, Carol always believed her real skills were in organizing and leading volunteer efforts, all of which she continued to do right up to her passing. Carol is survived by her daughters, Jessica Markowitz and Erica Markowitz, her granddaughters, Sena, Emma and Sadie, her grandson, Skyler, her brother, Andy Steinfeldt, sisters, Roxane, Linda, and Ellen, her beloved aunt Sharron Steinfeldt, and many loving nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
