Carol Lea Riker

1939 — 2026

Newfield, NY

Carol Lea Lawrence (Hayes) Riker, formerly of 8 Briarwood Lane in Newfield, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 15, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on April 17, 1939, Carol was the daughter of the late Herbert and Eva Lawrence. A graduate of Newfield Central School, she remained a lifelong resident of Newfield. She was married to her husband William Riker for 42 years, and together they raised a blended and loving family. She was predeceased by her sisters Shirley Landstrom and Beverly Carcelli.

Carol found deep joy in singing, baking, and quilting. A devoted member of the Newfield United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, she generously shared her time and talents as a Sunday School teacher and choir member. She was also active in the Newfield Senior Citizens, the Newfield Red Hat Society, and a ladies birthday group, and she served as a Cub Scout and Brownie leader.

She is survived by her children Richard (Charla) Hayes, Judy (Richard) Neno, Tama (Bruce) Stotts, Timothy Hayes (Joleen Davis), and Michelle (Gene) King, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Carol lived her life unselfishly, always placing others before herself, and she leaves a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
